Effective staff supervision in the early years
It has become a mandate in recent times for day-care setting to receive supervision while operating. In this course, aimed at room leaders and managers, you will be introduced to the theory of supervision and the important role that it plays within a controlled and well-managed setting, particularly with regards to safeguarding. Trainees will also learn about the apt practice in implementing supervision processes at their day-care setting. This short course has been written by international early year’s consultant and trainer, Laura Henry and is aimed at existing managers, or as a part of a suite of leadership and management courses for introducing team-leader-level staff to new aspects of managerial practice.

As stated by the Early Years Foundation Stage, effective supervision provides ‘support, coaching, and training for the practitioner’. In the reading section of this course, these terms are clarified and the different forms they can take in a professional setting are detailed. In regards to ‘effective’ supervision, the presentation included in this course explains how to implement an effective process, aimed at supervisors.
